Vorno · Lucca · Toscana — est. XVIII century
Villa Marie
An 18th-century estate, kept like a secret.
Hidden in the quiet village of
Vorno, ten minutes from the towers of Lucca, three buildings of the
eighteenth century stand in two hectares of
gardens — renovated over five years by the Van Marcke family, and devoted to
exclusivity, comfort and conviviality.

History
A dream,
at first sight
Spring, 2015. Marleen and Luc Van Marcke, seasoned explorers of Tuscany, drive through the secluded village of Vorno when a magnificent old villa catches their eyes. They halt the car. Without a word, they look at each other and smile — “this is our dream property.” They name it Villa Marie, after their daughter, and spend five years returning it to glory with Italy's finest architects and artisans.
The villa, farmhouse and Forno are built; the estate serves Vorno for three centuries.
The Van Marcke family discovers the property and begins its renovation.
The Villa reopens — six suites, an indoor spa, a garden-park reborn.
The tennis court completes the estate, beside lake, pool and helipad.
Six suites,
named by colour
Murano chandeliers, original Tessieri tiles, marbled bathrooms and antique Italian furniture across four floors — connected by a splendid classical staircase, and a modern lift. Each suite carries its own colour, its own light, its own view of the gardens or the ancient towers of Lucca.
Scroll — the corridor unfolds sideways.

Il Giardino delle Nozze
Vows under white wisteria
In a romantic marble gazebo conceived by Luc Van Marcke, couples exchange their vows beneath a cascading canopy of wisteria, surrounded by magnolia trees.

La Piscina
Sun, water, stillness
Beyond the Italian garden — fountains, sculpted hedges, lemon trees along the water channel — the outdoor pool waits with its parasols, and the hills hold the horizon.

L'Orto & il Giardino dell'Arte
Grown for the table and the eye
An organic vegetable garden with a travertine fountain feeds the kitchen; kiwis ripen on the fifty-metre pergola; olives become the estate's oil. Next door, the Art Garden exhibits works that melt into the landscape.

Il Campo da Tennis
Match point, est. 2025
The newest corner of the estate — every match comes with a side of fresh air and breathtaking green.
